The BAnd Bio

Rookery Lane is a folk-rock band formed in 2016 in Carmarthen, Wales. With a deep mutual love for folk music, the band creates songs that are meant to be listened to, not just heard. Known for their heartfelt lyrics, soaring harmonies, and a rich blend of musical textures, Rookery Lane weaves a tapestry of storytelling that invites listeners to immerse themselves in each song. Their sound draws from the timeless influences of Fleetwood Mac, Fairport Convention, Dire Straits, and Tim Hardin, to name just a few,  blending classic folk rock with modern sensibilities.

At the heart of the band are Eileen Foulkes-Boyt (lead vocals) and James Laws (keyboards), both of whom bring years of experience and musical expertise.

Since their formation, Rookery Lane has produced two albums, Scrapbook in 2017 and Reflections of the Tao in 2022, both of which have been highly regarded for their lyrical depth and musical innovation. The band’s songs combine intimate ballads with expansive, anthemic rock, always centred around the art of storytelling. Their music explores themes of love, loss, and the human experience, inviting listeners into their world with every performance.

Their music is a captivating fusion of folk traditions and rock influences, delivering powerful narratives and melodies that resonate with a wide range of listeners.

Whether performing live or in the studio, Rookery Lane crafts music that stays with the listener long after the final chord fades. Through their unique blend of folk rock and their commitment to heartfelt, immersive music, they continue to carve out a space in the modern folk-rock scene.
